HO Western Maryland MOW Decals

This set was produced to fill a gap in WM decals which have never been done prior to this set.

A railroad system as large as the Western Maryland, operating from Tidewater to Appalachia meant having equipment used in the maintenance of the railroad. It used what it needed from its revenue service fleet as well as converting older obsolete freight and passenger cars into more usable MOW service cars. This decal set is intended to cover the majority of the Wild Mary MOW fleet including both traditional and more conservative lettering styles.

The US Army Troop cars have been done in both brass and plastic, with the most recent form being done by Walthers. The Heavyweight Passenger cars, including baggage cars and coaches are available as kits by Bethlehem Car Works and Brachline/Atlas. 40’ Boxcars have been produced by various manufacturers. The Jordan Spreaders have been produced in brass and plastic. The correct 30 Yard Side Dump car is available as a 3D printed kit on Shapeways and in brass.

This sheet has enough data to do at least 6 different cars, with different variations included for oxide red and gray painted camp cars, side-dump cars, data for Jordan Spreaders, water/auxiliary tenders and the Safety Instruction Boxcar No. 101. There’s also additional boxcar service lettering which when combined with a standard WM Boxcar lettering set would give additional cars.
