The PRR’s F36 flatcar was designed with a flat deck and a nominal length of 50 feet, however with 6-wheel trucks and a deep center sill, the capacity of the car was 125 tons. An initial build of 20 cars was completed in December 1940 at Altoona, with an additional 10 cars built in 1942. The F36 was numbered in a single block from 470206 to 470235.
This sheet has enough data to do 1 car. The road number is done as a “prefix” so you can choose your own number. There are three different reweigh locations (P57: Altoona, P205: Pitcairn, P330: New Castle) with multiple reweigh dates into the early 1960’s. Note that the decals are broken up based on the prototype pictures which shows a web flange between the top and bottom chord of the car. Also, the line underneath the numbers is on the edge of the lower flange.
The F36 has been imported by Railworks, Ltd. in Brass and is available as a 3D printed kit by Erik Ernest at earnesttrains.com or on Ebay as bajadezert.
For painting this flatcar in this scheme, the entire car including underbody is to be painted in Freight Car Color. The trucks are painted black.
